THE CAROLINE TOTE

HOW DID THE CAROLINE TOTE COME TO BE?

The minute I saw the Celine phantom bag with its slouched out sides I was in love. I even bought the new bag in hopes of expanding my horizons and carrying another label, but the sad news was it was 10 lbs without anything in it, too big and not happening...so what does a handbag designer do? She makes her own version.

It just so happens that not too much later afterwards, we had a client who came in with a similar bag that she was hoping to have made in alligator since the brand did not offer that option. It turned out that this was just the push I needed to tackle my own personal version and alas we have the new Caroline tote.

WHAT ARE OUR FAVORITE FEATURES ABOUT THE CAROLINE?

Versatility
To us, the Caroline is the perfect size which allows you to carry it all day around the city or even as a chic carry on bag. It fits everything you would need and has two ways to be carried: over the arm/in hand or across the body with its long detachable strap. It can also even fit over the shoulder, but it tends to be rather snug.

Organization
With two interior cell phone pockets where you can keep your phone and sunglasses, a zipper pocket for all the hidden essentials and a hook for your keys you'll quickly see how the organization of the Caroline is a lifesaver and will keep you from always digging into a bottomless pit.

Pop of Color
We took the interior color option all the way up to the top this time and put in a bright blue Yves Klien suede lining which makes the ordinary black bag ROCK. Any saturated color that peeks out of the bag is super fun and makes an understated bag more personal and custom. With what seems to us as endless color combinations offered for the Caroline, you'll be sure to find the perfect ones to match your style and taste...miller taupe matte alligator and a bright purple interior, navy blue matte alligator and a periwinkle interior, cammello matte alligator and a magenta interior and the list goes on and on!

Modified to Perfection
One thing you may or may not know is that when we initially have a new product that we want to introduce into our line, the first samples that are made are in leather in order to get us through the designing (and redesigning) process. Some of the first things that we look for are to ensure that all of the proportions are correct, that it incorporates all of the features we were looking for and that it feels right on a "road-test". The Caroline pictured above was road-tested in NYC where it received oh so many compliments on its first spin - I have yet to tire of it and dream about the other fabulous skin and color combinations that are possible!
